Dojo Rich

Born and raised in Vienna, Dojo Rich has taken an unconventional musical journey. After training as a hairdresser, he pursued studies in music and movement pedagogy with a focus on instrumental improvisation and movement accompaniment. This diverse background forms the foundation for his impressive live performances.

After studying in Vienna, Dojo Rich moved to Trossingen, Germany, and later to Basel, Switzerland, where he studied early music and the cornetto. However, feeling constrained by the traditional concert world, he wanted to play music for people who wanted to dance. Thus, Dojo Rich was born. He began his musical journey with a Cajon, Didgeridoo, and Frame Drum mounted on a bicycle, touring Switzerland and Germany. For three years, a motorhome accompanied him, guiding him and his instruments across Europe. Since August 2022 he is living and creating in Austria, developing his musical vision.

Dojo Rich’s stage presence is an artistic fusion of his education and his love for music. During his live performances, he combines Didgeridoo, Cajon, Framedrums, Darabukka, and Aquadrum in a captivating interplay that transports the audience into a world of rhythmic diversity. Everything you hear is created in real-time without the use of a loop player or samples – an impressive display of musical virtuosity.
